Technical Writer for Health Benefits Administrator

Reports to: Team Manager
Non-exempt, non-supervisory

  • Serves in a Project Management role to oversee Marketing related tasks associated with new and renewing ASO group activities
  • Creates and executes customized plan benefit documents and other membership materials to accurately reflect health plan intent
  • Customizes agreements and contracts relating to   prescription, telemedicine, supplemental benefits, Section 125, Retiree and COBRA administration
  • Addresses benefit intent inquiries and complaints from internal and external sources ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
  • Maintains ASO group website document updates and entry of documents onto group’s website
  • Develops training material and conducts internal operational education pertaining to plan design updates
  • Coaches decision makers in areas of plan design that do not support/protect plan intent, cost containment, member engagement and affordability, or meet regulatory requirements
  • Protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and records that TML IEBP creates, receives, maintains or transmits by complying with TML MultiState IEBP policies and procedures on physical, administrative and technical safeguards.

Skills/Abilities/Experience Required in Priority Order

  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills that convey subject matter in a confident, clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrates the ability to comprehend and clearly explain plan design material, IEBP contracts, vendor agreements, and regulatory state and federal compliance notices impacting the Self-Funded membership
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects including those requiring deliverables from multiple source
  • Advanced experience with office based word software with proven ability to author plan design documents, policies and procedures, correspondence and other benefit related material
  • Self-motivated with ability to make independent decisions timely and accurately
  • Experience in working with health benefit plans and/or ancillary benefit products highly desirable
  • Understanding of claim coding principles and practices highly desirable.   eoe
